On the side of the road–searching for Gladewater, TX

Nine years ago we had an interesting drive through Gladewater seeing some interesting things and meeting some interesting people.  So, of course we wanted to return and see what was still there.  Because we were taking a different route we found some things that we missed.

We drove by and then turned around as we realized that we should take a look.

 

Here it was in black and white.  And red!

We talked to the folks and they let us wander around and take some more photos of the treasures scattered about the yard.

A TR6!  Arguably the last great Triumph.

Just look at that slanted rear window that rolled up and down!

I didn’t expect to see a SAAB of this era in Texas.

Here was a second one!

Yes it is an Alpha Romeo.

We even got a look at some work in process inside.

It was so great that they allowed us to look around.  I was told that they have another building near by where they have several restored cars.  We would have loved to have explored that one as well, but we were still on our mission.  We thanked them and hit the road.
