This Saturday Jo and I are at the Morrisville Cars& Coffee event, which is considered the largest C&C event, measured by the number of vehicles attending, in the US.

With all the cars and trucks come thousands of people that want to see some exciting and unusual vehicles. Some of the people are interested in seeing a certain brand or model, others are interested in being wowed by some vehicles that you are not likely to be able to get up close to and see anywhere else.

They range from the exotics…

…to the rare vintage cars.

Perhaps your eyes are caught by something vintage that you didn’t even know existed.

For example, a 1965 Ford Econoline Sport Van.

Under that engine cover between the front seats is a factory 240 cubic inch six cylinder putting out 150 horsepower. As well as a factory optional C4 transmission, and a 9″ differential with a 3.00 ratio. Along with the factory optional slide-out step. All these (and more) made it an Econoline Sport Van that originated in California.

These two are clearly impressed.
Then there are the unbelievable cars that are entertaining as well as classic…

Kei trucks imported from Japan have been in the news as of late. These little haulers are small, but very functional and practical, except perhaps on the Interstates. These right-hand drive trucks are perfect for those times you just need a few things at a store like Home Depot or just running errands. They can be found being sold by specialized dealers for prices that can range from $9000-12000. Which is far cheaper than the huge four-door pickup trucks typically sell for. They get great mileage, too. Owners typically get about 35 miles per gallon.
While wandering the C&C parking lots we came across this Subaru…

Yes, it’s right-hand drive with the shifter to the driver’s left, but owners say it is easy to get used to and most of them transition to it being their daily driver.
The interior of this one is spacious…

The engine in this Kei is water cooled and is easy to get to get access to.

You just drop down the rear bumper and it is there. There is an engine cover in the rear under the mat that you can get complete access to the engine for any maintenance.

The owner says that the heater and defrost work great as does the air conditioning, that takes readily available R134 refrigerant.

A little further along and we found a Nissan Kei pickup truck with fold down sides to the bed.

Further along we came across what we were sure was a Suzuki Samauri 4WD that along with its sister brand the Geo Tracker, were very popular with off roaders.

We talked with the owner as it looked raised, but he said all he did was add larger wheels and tires. Oh, and then he told us that it was the Australian version, so take a look…

Yep, right-hand drive once again!

As you can now see, it is called the Jimny!
Not every vehicle at this C&C is a four-wheeler. There were crotch rockets galore.

For those of you that enjoy the classics here is a beauty from 1950…

An absolute beauty of an Oldsmobile.

This Rocket V8 purred while still functioning perfectly with the factory original 6-volt system.

With its fender skirts glistening the chrome trim made sure that you knew it was an Oldsmobile Futuramic.

Next, we came across this huge military truck now in a civilian’s hands…

Its diesel engine can run on just about anything including nail polish remover, but regular diesel fuel is perfect, although don’t expect it to match the Kei truck’s 35 mpg.

There was plenty to interest and entertain people of all ages. We even had this young guy living his dream on his own electric motorcycle…

The weather was springlike, and the crowds were enjoying the event. What we’ve shared with you is just a pinch of all the thousands of vehicles that were there. We are definitely coming back next month!
