Jim’s Garage often visits car museums, racetracks, and other locations having to do with cars. Typically, these adventures are well planned and involve a good amount of time planning for and research to prepare for the visit. One of the more fun and interesting things we do is come upon a car-related surprise that we weren’t expecting. They come under the category of “found on the side of the road”.
A weekend ago, we were traveling to and from a charming little city in Georgia called Adairsville. It was a fun trip but, on the drive, back home we came across one of those unplanned but interesting side of the road moments.
We spotted a pair of classic cars from the nineteen forties just sitting on the side of the road and we decided they were worth pulling over and taking a look at them.

One was a Ford that had some hot rod signage painted on it.

Considering their age, they weren’t in too bad shape.

The other one was a Chevy that was surprisingly intact.

People who live around the area probably pass them bay all the time and might even know the owner. All we could do was take some photos and let our imagination run wild. What stories these cars could tell. Eighty years of stories and adventures.
So off we drove full of wonder and stories only our imagination would consider.
