Driving in the MidEast

Not quite as horrific as the Russians, but I am still confused as to what I am seeing. Is it a planned event that these cars hit a huge patch of water and then see own many times they can spin around without crashing into something? I assume the driver then gets out and the person who doesn’t puke at the end wins.
