Back in the sixties Ford spent millions to challenge Ferrari on the race track after a perceived snub of Henry Ford II by Enzo Ferrari. The result was a complete podium win at LeMans by Ford in 1966.
Now it is another battle between the two car companies over F150.

Ford has sued Ferrari over its use of the F150 designation for this year’s F1 car.
Ford’s complaint is “Ferrari has misappropriated the F-150 trademark in naming its new racing vehicle the ‘F150’ in order to capitalize on and profit from the substantial goodwill that Ford has developed in the F-150 trademark.”
Certainly if you examine the two vehicles in question it is clear that Ferrari’s use of the F150 designation will cause an enormous amount of confusion that could tip the market balance in Ferrari’s favor. I know that when my current pickup truck needs replacement that I will be confused and I certainly don’t want to end up with a Ferrari in my driveway.
