On the Road–What bugs you

As I travel about the US this summer I am finding some pretty amazing car museums for sure, but there are always those things that you come across that you really didn’t expect to find or see.

I was pumping gas into the car and I noticed this beetle guarding the hose.  Pretty impressive guy.

I told him he could keep the hose.

Later today I was having some lunch when I noticed something odd hanging above the tables:

Here is a close-up of one.  Yes, it’s a plastic bag and if you look close you can see a penny in it.

So what do you suppose it was for?

Give up?

Apparently flies see them as wasp nests and the penny looks like the hole in a wasp nest.  The flies don’t want anything to do with wasps so they stay away from the tables. 

Who would have thought?
