For those of us that have seen the movie Ford vs. Ferarri or, perhaps, lived through those days, the Ford GT40 of those days holds some magnetism and may even be your dream to own one day. I felt the only option left was to find and purchase a 2005 era Ford GT. Imagine my surprise to see this:

Back in the 1960s Ford commissioned Kar-Kraft with a top-secret project to design, engineer and build the cars that challenged LeMans and Ferrari.

The manufacture of the Ford GT Mk IV continues in Mooresville, NC. Riley and Kar Kraft have made the dream a reality and you can own a new Mk IV. They had the original blueprints and castings and spent hours taking documentation and drawings, castings, fixtures and molds that were converted into current design software to facilitate the build process.

The original carburetors were no longer available, so these were newly built. Dual 660/ 40-series Holley 4-barrel carburetors.

ROUSH is in partnership with Riley Technologies and Kar-Kraft, and produce the 427 cubic inch / 7.0 liter V8 putting out 500 hp and 475 ft/lbs of torque. It comes with the original T44 4-speed transaxle.

It is such a treat to see that these great cars can be acquired new and not just trailer queens or museum displays. Check out their web site: KARKRAFTMKIV.COM
